WESTFALL — A former Delaware Valley Elementary School student has been accepted to Cornell University where he plans to study next year. He is considering a plan in engineering studies which he says will help him prepare for a rewarding career that he can also enjoy. Planning, preparing, being involved, and giving back to others are all character traits that those who know Delaware Valley High School senior Brad Wagner predict are sure to lead him to the success and happiness he will pursue upon graduating from Delaware Valley High School this coming June. Wagner, son of Don and Jennifer Wagner, and brother to Marc and Matt Wagner of Mill Rift, Pa., is active in his school and community. As a member of the high school football team, he has played offense as left tackle and defense as nose guard and tackle. He has been playing football as part of a team since 8th grade, and also throws for the track team. Wagner has studied music, playing violin and guitar. Most recently, Wagner became part of a school mentoring program between Delaware Valley High School and Delaware Valley Elementary School in which he and his fellow football players have become mentors at his former school, Delaware Valley Elementary. “It feels good to come back to the school I once attended just to see how everything has changed, and I thought it would be fun to help out the kids,” said Wagner of his choice to become part of the weekly mentoring program. “I also really enjoy helping the kids. I think it shows them that it is important not only to participate in extracurricular activities but to also get good grades.” Wagner is an inspiration to the students of his former school as he journeys off to college and future.
