Court denies
Pike murderer’s bid for new trial MILFORD Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced an appeals court has denied an appeal by Gregory Alan Rowe of his previous murder convictions. The Pennsylvania Superior Court recently denied Rowe’s second request for a new trial. Gregory Rowe was previously convicted in 2006 for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Kristen Fisher, and their daughter, 7 month old Kaylee Fisher in Greentown, in 2004. At Rowe’s trial, Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin presented evidence that on May 4, 2004, Kathleen Fisher returned to her residence and found her daughter, Kristen Fisher, lying on the garage floor with a noose around her neck. She also discovered Kaylee Fisher face down in a bathtub. Frank Barry, a resident of the community, had noticed a strange car in the neighborhood that morning and wrote down the license plate number. The Pennsylvania State Police discovered that the car belonged to Gregory Rowe. State Police also discovered that Rowe inquired about purchasing rope in a local hardware store that morning. Additionally, Rowe’s then girlfriend testified that two days prior to the murders he asked her to research on a computer how to tie a noose.
