Daylight time savings for bridge patrons

Milford —Tourists and emergency vehicles will not have long waits to get through daytime construction on the Milford-Montague Toll Bridge during the summer season. The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has suspended long-term lane closures associated with the rehabilitation project through mid-September. The commission earlier modified a construction ban on pedestrian and bicycle traffic by providing a daytime-use, 12-passenger shuttle van, equipped with bicycle racks. The shuttle plan was created after commission officials heard concerns when they presented plans before the Milford Borough Council earlier. Shelters to house waiting shuttle riders are being installed. The shuttle will operate seven-day a week.
