Delaware Valley students recognized for 4-H camp leadership

    WESTFALL - Jaclyn Bealer and Ryan Elliott, Camp Counselors from Pike County were awarded “Counselors of the Week” certificates at 4-H Camp Shehaqua this summer. Both Jaclyn and Ryan were recognized by the four county 4-H/Youth Development Educators and other camp staff as demonstrating exceptional skills as camp counselors. These high school students were said to exemplify what makes a great counselor and were positive role models for the younger campers. Pike County attended camp with Monroe, Wayne and Lackawanna from July 5-8th, with a total of 67 youths attending. Also representing Pike County as counselors and counselors-in-training were Samantha Contino, Angelica DeVoe, Aileen Elliott, Mary Chappell, Sarah Rhine, Pamela Perez and Raisa Bensley-Rockbadn. Samantha, Angelica and Aileen were each recognized as “counselor of the day”. The Cooperative Extension is proud to have these young leaders representing Pike County for their acceptance of responsibility, cooperation, excellent relationships and time spent with the campers. Eleven Pike County 4-H’ers attended camp with David Sanchez, Erica Hogan, Trevor McAndrew and Michael Hogan being recognized as “camper of the day”.
