MILFORD — Four candidates running for statewide judicial posts attended the annual luncheon and Safe Haven fundraiser hosted by the Pike County Democratic Women’s Caucus la-st Sunday afternoon at Cliff Park Inn just outside Milford. Pike County’s State Democratic Committeewoman, Elizabeth Forrest, said that she was very pleased that state level candidates had at last stopped taking Pike County voters for granted or ignoring the county altogether. “Judicial issues affecting women and children are just as important here as they are in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh,” she said. “And I’m delighted that these individuals have made the effort and taken the considerable time to come here and tell us who they are and what they stand for. Pike County Democratic women won’t forget it.” Special guest speaker for the afternoon was Barbara Boriello, president of the Board of Directors for Safe Haven, who spoke of the growing need for Safe Haven’s services, as known cases of abuse increase daily.
