LACKAWAXEN — On Aug. 19 Lackawaxen Democrats feasted at a pot luck supper and social to kick-off to the upcoming election season. Members signed up and volunteered to work in the coming months for the change they want to see in the White House. Support for Chris Carney’s re-election was strong and enthusiastic. Discussions followed the feast. The theme revolved around the question, ”Are you better off now than you were eight years ago ?“ There wasn’t any dissent. All agreed that the policies of the past eight years have ruined the economy, cost too many American lives and favored the rich. They were all looking forward to the changes, optimism and hope that an Obama presidency represents, according to a party statement. The next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 16, the third Tuesday of the month, at the Lackawaxen Township Building off state Route 590. For more information please call Carole Orleman at 570 685 7331.
