DINGMAN — At the Township supervisor’s meeting earlier this month, Sewage Enforcement Officer Chris Wood reported during the holiday season Pike County did a good job on picking up recyclables from the Dingman Recycling Center on Fisher’s Lane. “The recycling container for glass bottles was overflowing and there was a lot of broken glass all over the ground. “I guess Pike County didn’t realize how many alcohol drinkers there are in Dingman,” Wood said with a chuckle in his voice. Wood told the supervisors the township website www.dingmantownship.org has been updated to make it easier for town residents to get around and find what they are searching for. In other business Jan. 6, township supervisor’s chair Tom Mincer reported Pike County Commissioners have voiced concerns over the long lines of voters at the past presidential election. A meeting is scheduled with the county commissioners and members of the Dingman Township Supervisors to come up with plans to alleviate this problem in the future. Dingman Township Fire Department Chief Bill Mikulak reported there were no major problems for emergency services during the holiday season. Township Solicitor John Klemeyer suggested the twice monthly meetings which the supervisors hold could be held a half an hour earlier as some other municipalities do. This would make it possible to take advantage of daylight hours in the summer. This suggestion was tabled.
