MILFORD - More than two weeks later, there still is no official explanation for a borough man’s destructive driving at the Milford Post Office. Milford Police Chief Gary Williams said Wednesday that 85-year-old driver Andrew Tartaglia claimed he did not have any emotional or physical issues involved at the time. “He says he okay,” Williams said. Tartaglia, his wife Helen, and another motorist were treated for injuries suffered on Sept. 26 when Tartaglia’s Lincoln Continental sedan bolted backward into a pickup truck at an adjoining gas station, then bolted forward, crashing into the lobby doors of the post office. According to Williams, Tartaglia maintains, “The car just took off.”
