The Grand Opening of the Hotel Fauchere in mid-August raised over $30,000 for seven local charities, including the Building Fund for the new Central Library for the Pike County Library System. On Oct. 30, owner Dick Snyder, right, and Richard Pleasants, general manager, presented Barbara Buchanan, library board president, top left, and Maleyne Syracuse, building task force chair, a check for over $3,500 for the building fund. “The continued generosity of Sean Strub and Dick Snyder reflects their commitment to the betterment of our local community. We are deeply appreciative of their thoughtful support of the new library building fund,” said Syracuse. (Contributed photo)
