FEMA grant writing for
fire companies WASHINGTON A Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) workshop to assist local fire departments in applying for grants will take place on Tuesday, March 30, at 6 p.m., at the Lackawanna County Center for Public Safety, 30 Valley View Business Park Jessup, PA 18434. Rep. Christopher Carney (D-10) said “This is an opportunity for our local fire departments to speak with someone from FEMA about how to apply for the Assistance to Firefighter Grants,” Congressman Carney said. “These federal Fire Grants’ are awarded on a competitive basis and FEMA is able to provide insight and answer any questions our local fire officials may have. Having been trained as a first responder, I understand first-hand how these funds will provide fire companies with the necessary resources needed to improve their response needs.” Fire companies in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District are encouraged to RSVP by contacting Congressman Carney’s Clarks Summit office at 570 585-9988.
