Milford — Tina Rodriquez, owner and stylist of Christian Salon located on 502 West Harford Street in Milford, is celebrating her first year in business. Her advice for opening a business here in Milford, “Make sure you attend one of the meetings that the Milford Borough has once a month,” because it would open up your eyes of how many rules, regulations, zoning laws, and permits you need to pull before you get started on a business. “For those who would like to open up or expand a Salon/Spa there is a new ordinance only in the town of Milford that you need a holding tank which cost over $5,000 plus get it pump for $1,800 every few months.” That aside, Milford is a great town to have a business, she said. “We at Christian Salon had a great year overall. I met and service over 200 beautiful people of Milford and it’s surrounding towns. I’m so grateful to have them as my clientele. Not bad for someone who has only been here a year. I would like to give out a special thanks to all those who made Christian Salon possible.” Everyone asks her why she named the salon “Christian”. She put a great thought in picking a name. “I believe Christian sounds prestige like Christian Dior, Christian Slater and so on and because it’s unisex it fits great at a unisex salon. It’s also after my stepson’s name. To me it’s a marketing tool because people named Christian stop by to have their haircut, when you see the word ‘Christian’ you’ll now probably think of us. Some people asked if it was a religious thing? I say ‘if you want it to be’”. She says they are a salon with a heart. They do contribute to a lot of fundraising as a way of giving back - and they specialize in all service of hair, nails and skin. The professional team is Rodriguez, Jill Schweitzer, and Ashley Bezzina.
