Fitness for older adults
Dingman Local adults 18 and older are invited to Pike Physical Therapy and Fitness Center for an Open House showcasing the newly-added Healthways SilverSneakers Fitness Program, the nation’s leading exercise program designed exclusively for older adults. Open houses will be on Friday Oct. 17th & Saturday Oct.18, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. More info Instructors will give demonstrations of the SilverSneakers Muscular Strength & Range of Movement providing first-time attendees with a great opportunity to experience the award-winning class, as well as intermediate and advanced group exercise classes. There will be special prizes and refreshments for all attendees as well as facility tours for new members. Interested individuals who cannot attend the open house event are encouraged to stop by the fitness center during regular business hours to have any questions about the popular program answered. The SilverSneakers Fitness Program, designed exclusively for Medicare-eligible individuals, offers physical activity, health education, and social events. With the SilverSneakers premier network, you’ll have a complimentary membership with access to a variety of participating locations throughout the country. Many sites offer amenities such as fitness equipment, treadmills and free weights, and the signature SilverSneakers Fitness Program classes, designed specifically for older adults and taught by certified instructors. Additional signature classes, such as YogaStretch, SilverSplashR, CardioFit and WeightCircuit, may be available at select locations. A designated staff member will help you along the way.
