Foundation's Life Skills enrichment grant goes to Pike County Developmental Center

    Wilkes-Barre — The Pike County Developmental Center has received $3,000 to expand its Life Skills Enrichment Project to include nutrition education for 23 special needs adults. The grant was on of ten announced earlier this month by the Blue Ribbon Foundation of Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania for local health education and prevention programs. In all, $213,600 was awarded to non-profit agencies within the Foundation’s 13-county service area whose projects met criteria under one of the Foundation’s three grant categories: Health and Wellness Impact Grants, Health and Wellness Access to Care Grants and Health and Wellness Mini-Grants.
