Free Fall classes to begin
At Northampton Community College in Pike and Wayne MILFORD The Wayne and Pike sites of Northampton Community College will soon be “a buzz” with activity when free fall classes resume the week of Aug. 31. Are you looking for a job or wanting to advance at your current job? Then the Business Technology Computer classes are for you. The new Business Technology Program is being offered at the Wayne County site in The Murray Building at 616 Main Street in Honesdale and at the Pike County site at 837 US Route 6, Unit 6, in Shohola. Have you been putting off obtaining your high school diploma? Why not set this year as the time to reach that goal? GED preparation classes are offered year round with morning and evening class schedules to choose from. Do you need to brush up on math or reading skills for personal or employment purposes? Adult Basic Education classes are also free for the taking. For those who are learning English as a Second Language, and want to improve their reading, writing, and speaking skills, ESL classes are being offered at both sites. Our Honesdale location offers morning classes while our Shohola site will hold evening classes. Family Literacy classes are also offered in Shohola and in Dingmans Ferry for parents of young children who want to obtain their GED, improve their basic skills, or achieve other educational and personal goals. New student orientation will take place during the week of August 24. Call now to pre-register and for more information on any of these free classes. Call the Wayne County site at 570-251-9335, or the Pike County site at 570-296-4042. It’s time for the kids to go back to school so why not take advantage of the time and head back to classes, too.
