WESTFALL - Cheer for 100. ‘Day 100’ of the 2005-2006 school year was celebrated at Delaware Valley Elementary School with a very special musical concert featuring the youngest grade level of the school. Kindergartners in Janel Chudoba’s, Ann Connell’s, Amy Crowley’s, and Lisa Scheibner’s classrooms were all part of the lively, musical, end-of-year night of fun that brought a standing ovation from their audience. Organized and directed under the school’s kindergarten music teacher Ruth Sweeney, the children thrilled a full audience of appreciative concert-goers with their assortment of songs, dance, and instrumental performances. The theme of the concert was “Cheer for 100” and was hosted in conjunction with kindergarten curriculum goals and in celebration of 100 excellent days at school. The music also celebrated friends and friendships, the importance of which are both recognized and fostered at school. Sweeney had the utmost praise and pride for her young charges and their entertaining public performance. “There were a variety of dances, songs, and instrumental performances. It was a lot of fun and the children did an excellent job,” said a very proud Sweeney. “They stood up straight and tall, and they sang very well.”
