Friends in need of homes

Milford — At four-months old Hemingway is an already-handsome all-black kitty. Soft and shiny black, he’s an adorable kitty that gets along well with other cats. As he’s already neutered, he is ready to adopt a people family who will love his playful personality and sweet disposition. Callie is a playful and handsome nine-month-young Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler whose owner’s medical problems prevented him from keeping Callie. Needing a home that is able to devote time to basic obedience training and a lot of activity, Callie’s a smart pup whose frisky-cattle-dog, high-energy personality will make him a wonderful playmate and an affectionate and devoted family member. He’s been neutered and has all his shots so he’s ready to adopt his new family now -- and be all moved in for the holidays. Abandoned in the basement of an empty house and thought to be about a year old, Justin is a Jack Russell terrier mix who seems to get along well with other dogs and young and adult visitors to the shelter. His frisky agility suggests a playful nature that will fit in well in a family that directs his intelligent, energetic behavior to enjoy a lively companion that will be a loyal and affectionate family member. To see these “adoptables,” as well as some of the other adorable pets at the Pike County Humane Society (PCHS), visit the PCHS Web site at www.pikecountyhumanesociety.petfinder.com, or the shelter on Lee Road in Walker Lake.
