Friends in need of homes

MILFORD Shadow was surrendered because of a family illness. Eighteen month-old Shadow, a German Shepherd mix, is reported to be fully housebroken, trained with an invisible fence system, and great with children and other dogs. Take this fella home and you won’t have to overcome typical puppy behavior issues, given the caring and disciplined household environment he was accustomed to. Meet this guy for yourself and let him follow you home, so you can start with a well-mannered playful family member ready to share his love, fun-times and devotion. Duke should have been called a Lovedoodle - this 18 month old Apricot Goldendoodle who loves everyone he meets - kids, adults and all the other dogs at the shelter. Surrendered with his brother by an owner who had no time for this playful and affectionate pooch, Duke is neutered, housebroken, healthy and as-ready-as-ready-can-be to go home with a new people family who’ll enjoy him and return his love in generous proportions. Forest is a one-year-old domestic long hair gray and black tabby. Forest could take the Humane Society award for most playful and friendly. Happy, healthy and totally vetted, he’s ready to go - so you can take this little guy home for a donation, and enjoy all the love of a cuddly playmate that gets along great with other cats. To see these “adoptables,” as well as some of the other adorable pets waiting at the Pike County Humane Society (PCHS) - visit the PCHS Web site at www.pikecountyhumanesociety.petfinder.com, or the shelter on Lee Road in Shohola. On Saturday, Aug. 1, you can see them at Adoption Day at Milford Chrysler, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Milford For more information, call 570-296-7654.
