Pike County Humane Society pets available MILFORD — These are some of the pets awaiting homes at the Pike County Humane Society. Peanut: Five year old Peanut’s family could not take her along when they moved so now she needs a new loving family to give her a home. A mild-mannered 35-pound Papillion/cocker spaniel mix with a gentle and friendly personality, she enjoys the company of children, adults and other dogs. With a curly brown and white coat that is cuddly soft, she’d love to be your devoted companion - an affectionate family member anxious to please. Spencer: Put a cute pug face on a neat little terrier body and you have Spencer, a 17-pound 11 month old pup who’d love to have a people family to play with and love. Enjoying a mixture of cuddles and playful activity, he’ll benefit from gentle, firm and consistent positive training to be an affectionate, well-mannered and adorable pet, in a family respectful of his small size. As he doesn’t get along with all dogs, if you have a pooch, you’ll want to bring your dog to meet Spencer to see if they’ll get along. Then spend a little time with this little guy and let him steal your heart with his happy-go-lucky personality and energetic style. Cutie: Her name truly suits her, this small and delicate orange tiger kitty who is less than a year old. Playful and friendly, she likes to sit in the sunshine and look out the window when she not bobbing after a toy or coming to your lap for a cuddle. If a pretty little girl kitty would bring happiness to your family, come and see Cutie, and let her follow you home. Ginger: Thought to be about 3 years old, boxer-mix Ginger arrived as a stray and has been happily enjoying the company of shelter visitors, staff and most other shelter dogs. If you have a dog, bring your pooch to meet Ginger to be sure they’ll get along prior to adoption. She is friendly, gentle on a leash and recognizes some basic commands, so she should move into a kind and caring home easily. Come give her a hug, a walk around the yard and some gentle play, and see if she just might be the companion and playmate that will make your family complete. She’d love to go home, if you’ll have her.
