Fundraiser celebrates new heating system

    HIGHLAND LAKE - The North American Cultural Laboratory, better known as NaCL, is hosting three days of fundraising events next weekend to celebrate and help pay for the theater’s new heating system. On Friday, Feb. 3, “The Heat is On!” gala benefit dinner will be held at the Carriage House Restaurant in Barryville, starting with a 6 p.m., cocktail hour, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. After-dinner entertainment at the theater will include excerpts from the NaCL performance of “The Confessions of Punch and Judy. Tickets are $60. On Saturday Feb. 4, art blooms in winter at The Art Party, a benefit for the theater and WJFF public radio. The program will include a silent auction and cocktails at 7 p.m. Art contributions may be viewed at www.wjffradio.org . The evening will feature live performances, music, poetry and a dance follows, between 10 p.m. and midnight. Tickets are $5. The weekend ends on Sunday with a Family Theater and Craft Day. Families are invited to drop in enjoy performances, circus performers, mask-making, face painting, puppetry, stilt walking and juggling workshops, refreshments. There will be local arts, vendors and more. NaCL’s hit family show “The Time Cycle” will take place at 3 p.m.. Tickets are $5. For more information about any of the programs, call 845-557-0694.
