MILFORD — According to a recent report there were 864 filings for foreclosure in Pike County last year and this was an increase of 20 percent compared to 2007. The number of foreclosures and levies continue to rise in Pike County and all across the country. Local agencies and non-profit organizations are hosting a free seminar to help homeowners having trouble with their mortgage or in fear of foreclosure. The same seminar will be held on two dates: Thursday, March 19 from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. and Friday, March 27 from noon to 2 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Conference Room in the Pike County Administration Building in Milford. This seminar is sponsored by: the Pike County Commissioners/Human Development, Delaware Valley School District, NorthPenn Legal Services, Neighborhood Housing Service of Lackawanna County, and the United Way of Pike County.
