Gift of giving runs deep
MILFORD - When one of the founding members served his term as United Way of Pike County President and left office, he did not leave the UWPC philosophy of doing “what matters.” When the current United Way board determined that the 2006-2007 goal would be $150,000, Alan and Pat Dolge, stepped into action. Together they pledged a leadership gift of $1,000.00. Today, Pat Dolge volunteers as bookkeeper for the United Way of Pike County. “Unless an individual specifically designates their pledge to go somewhere else, the money that we raise here, stays here. Since 2000, the Pike United Way has allocated a total of $482,000 to various organizations to support human services programs exclusively in Pike County. I will always support the efforts of UWPC. It’s for the good of our county” states former President Alan Dolge. Alan and Pat Dolge go beyond their designated titles. The Dolge’s are always available to assist on projects, and mentor new employees. Their commitment to UWPC is very strong and is evidenced through their dedication to serve. No gift is too small and it is not too late to make a donation.
