Group would save & restore Milford Theater

About 75 persons turned out last Thursday evening at the Delaware Valley High School Auditorium to hear the beginnings of a plan to save the condemned Milford Theater, and restore it as a community theater and meeting place. Realtor, Dave Chant, Attorney Duke Schneider, resident Tom Hoff, theater producer Mike Carson and engineer Mike Lamoreaux detailed ongoing efforts for grant funding to purchase the theater for $375,000 and eventually direct $1.3 to 1.6 million towards its renovation. Saying he was encouraged by the turnout, Schneider said the project must have community involvement in order to work. A next meeting, yet unscheduled, is planned where candidates for a board of directors would be considered.
