WESTFALL — This spring, students from Larry Marcial’s HS Sociology class paired with the Habitat for Humanity to build a shed for the new house project. Students from the class are required to perform a certain number of community volunteer hours and decided this project was perfect to help fulfill their commitment. Seniors Cal Rosenstein, Amanda Raun, and Arlene Donahue along with Sophomore Scott Cowan of Wallenpaupack High School, spent the day building a shed for the new house project in the back yard. They were very successful and worked well together. Students said they enjoyed the feeling of knowing they were doing something good for someone else. Mike Donlan, project coordinator, was very excited to have the students help with this wonderful project. The Habitat for Humanity is thrilled with the progress of this house project and contribute it’s success to the steady help of volunteers. They are a bit ahead of schedule and are getting plans ready for the next house once this is complete. It is never to late to get involved and volunteer. No matter what service one can offer the project, every bit of help goes a long way.
