Hey, that grain is not for you!

I looked out into my backyard and saw something I have never seen before. Standing eating grass was a buck, a doe, and a fawn. I watched them for about an hour. The endearments shared by the trio was awesome. They would rub heads, the fawn actually was face to face with the buck licking his lips. The hour was priceless. The next day my husband and I went to the local feed store and bought wildlife grains with the intention of feeding them. Well, not soon after we placed the grains down, along came this huge bear. He was just laying in the pile having a feast. He actually kept us out of our own yard for three days! He would not leave until every last grain was gone. He would eat, pant a little, sit down, rub against the tree, lay back down and just kept lapping up those grains. When he was tired he would take few steps into the woods and just plop down and take a snooze. As soon as he woke up he was right back. I was able to get some really good pictures of the deer family and the bear with the zoom on my camera. Donna Cook Hewitt, N.J.
