Mill Rift - The historic Mill Rift Inn will reopen at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, following an extensive renovation. For generations the Mill Rift was has been a gathering place for the community as well as hunters, bikers and other visitors to the area. “The knotty pine walls, custom-designed old-fashioned booths and long bar provide a warm and comfortable ambience” said co-owner Diane Burger. Burger, her husband Ralph and business partner Sean Strub have completed an extensive renovation of the historic property. Matt Levine, owner of Pike Modern Gallery in Milford, will be the manager. “We’re excited to be opening,” stated Levine, who noted that while the Inn will initially be open only Friday and Saturday, “we’re confident that our hours will expand as the community and others from the area return and experience the grace and warmth of the newly restored Mil Rift.” The menu will include pizza and other bar favorites such as friend shrimp, friend chicken as well as more exotic offerings. Levine also noted that the Inn is available as an event venue for private parties and meetings. The Mill Rift Inn is located on Delaware Drive, on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River about four miles upriver from the Matamoras/Port Jervis bridge.
