Holiday is for sales

MILFORD Vendors were scarce but enthusiasm was high at St. Patrick’s Church on E. High Street in Milford during their Labor Day Flea Market event. The day was sunny and the vendors were happy. Stacey Tidridge and her son Adam were selling items from home. Adam, who was selling his old toys, said, “I did okay; I sold three dollars!” Joyce Barkowski was busy taking in money when the Courier stopped by her table. “I started off with two full tables of items and now I’m down to just one table so I’m satisfied,” said Barkowski as a customer was purchasing a very old 8 mm movie camera. Even though the parking lot could have held many more vendors, 13-year-old Zach Arnold said he did great and probably made $40 dollars for the day. Nearby, at her home, Carol Osterberg was busy at her yard sale on Saturday and Sunday. “Both of my kids are now in college and so I thought this would be a great opportunity to get out in the fresh air and get rid of some things I no longer need. I sold over $130 of my merchandise and over $170 worth of art work that didn’t sell at the church’s auction in June,” said Osterberg.
