Homeless friends in Port Jervis

PORT JERVIS, N.Y. - Bandit is a good natured one and one-half year-old male black Labrador / Chow mix. He is black with a little white marking on his chest. He is already altered and housebroken. The last owner said Bandit is “very loving” but was too rough with small kids. A home without cats is requested by Bandit. He is protective of his family and property. Pumpkin is a pretty dilute calico / grey tabby female about four years old. She is housebroken and has a white mouth. Pumpkin didn’t like the camera’s flash and kept closing her eyes. She is a little shy but maybe just hasn’t gotten used to shelter life yet. Her coloring is unique and very pretty. Pumpkin will be spayed before going to a new home. If you are interested in adopting a pet, please call 845-856-3677 or visit the Humane Society of Deerpark/Port Jervis at 202 Rt. 209 North Tuesday through Sunday. The shelter is closed Mondays. You can call to check what animals are available at or visit www.pjhs.petfinder.com.
