Port Jervis, N.Y. Members of the Bon Secours Community Hospital Quilting Club recently completed a project that will benefit children that are patients in the hospital’s emergency department. Dozens of small calico bears were happily stitched together in a variety of colors and patterns so that children in the emergency department will have a stuffed friend to call their own and ease their anxiety. Bonnie Heal, the department’s director, said, “Small gestures such as these bears definitely help to alleviate fear of the unknown for a child and provide something of their own to hold on to.” “We deeply appreciate the time and love the quilting club put into this project,” she added.
