BUSHKILL - The Pike County Humane Society in conjunction with Dr. Stazger is offering a low cost rabies clinic. The vaccinations will be given out at the Lehman Township Municipal Building in Bushkill, on Sunday Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon. Pennsylvania law requires all dogs and indoor cats to be vaccinated for rabies. The fine of not having a current rabies vaccination can be up to $300. The cost for a vaccine at our clinic is $12- per animal and cash payment is required. Taking your pet to a rabies clinic such as this one does not take the place of your pets’ annual exam with your veterinarian. The Pike County Humane Society strongly recommends yearly exams for your pets’ other vaccines, heartworm checks and an all over body check to insure a long and healthy life for your pet. All animals must be either in a sturdy approved pet crate or on a secure collar and leash; no exceptions. For more information contact the shelter at 570-296-7654 or pchs2@hotmail.com.
