PIKE COUNTY — PennDOT began paving Interstate Highway 84 this week. Eastbound paving started Wednesday Sept 9, Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., between Exit 17 (Newfoundland/Hamlin), Wayne County, and Exit 26 (Tafton/Promised Land State Park), Pike County. The passing lanes are restricted. There is a 3-mile gap with no restrictions between exits 26 to 30 (Blooming Grove/Porters Lake/Peck’s Pond). Another 8-mile work zone will be put into place, approximately Wednesday Sept. 16, between Exit 30 and Exit 46 (Milford). Both work zones will have mill and pave operations through the beginning of November. Work will close down for the winter, then continue in the spring.
