MILFORD - In a time when everything seems to be getting more expensive, gas prices are up, electric rates are up, isn’t it good to know something can be free… with no strings attached… completely free. Left Field Hobbies will be joining nearly two thousand comic book shops across the continent and around the planet in celebrating Free Comic Book Day on May 6. Close to two million comic books will be given away by participating stores. Here at Left Field Hobbies we’ll be giving away 2,000 free comics that Saturday. The wide array of comic books published today ensures that readers of all ages - children, teens, and adults - can find something appropriate that will stir their imaginations. “Over the years, Free Comic Book Day has been our way to show appreciation to our loyal customers and help new customers gain an interest in the wonderful art of comics,” said owner James Rogers. “Come by on May 6 and let us show you what’s out there - for free.” The selection includes your favorite superhero or villain in Star Wars, Justice League or X-Men / Runaways! If you’re a manga fan have no fear, Tokyopop presents a compilation of three great manga series. Another great compilation of comics available on Free Comic Book Day is Images’s Future Shock. Get one comic and find eight brand new, four page scenes from eight ongoing comics; Archie Comics, Simpsons, G.I. Joe, The Transformers and Disney’s Uncle Scrooge are familiar favorites that will keep readers entertained for hours. Regular updates, information about comic books, and lists of participating publishers (and their comics) are all online at www.FreeComicBookDay.com. Free Comic Book Day kicks off at 11 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m. at Left Field Hobbies in Milford. Call 570-409-0202 for more information.
