Kids gone fishin'

MILFORD - The Pike County Commissioners held their tenth Annual Fishing Derby at Lily Pond at the Pike County Park on Saturday, with some 360 kids on hand. One of the primary sponsors, WalMart, provided fishing poles, rod and reel kits, and various tackle boxes as prizes for the largest catch in six age groups. Winners five years and under included: Eric Fahnestock, Alexis Lowe, Shayne Cook and Tanner Weighknecht. Six and seven year-old winners were: Courtney Myer, Justin Pranga, Nicholas Shi and Tyler Spinnosi. Eight and nine year-old winners included: Billy Pearn, Bryan Cowan, Brian Malanio and Tyler Cunard. Among 10 and 11 year-olds, Tommy Marshall, Frank Hoffman, Hailey Hoffmann and Brook Ezzo won prizes. Jeff Degroat, Mathew Jones, Heather Fahnestock, and Thomas Pampalone were 12 and 13 year-old winners Fourteen and 15 year-old winners were: Willy Zenes, James White, Andrew LaBruna and Julia Casella. Judges also drew random prize winners from among other entrants and winners included Claudio Tagliani, Dylan Grogan, Jeff DeGroat, Jimmy Hoffman, and Ryan Vesely.
