MILFORD — The fourth Leadership Pike class will start on Sept. 11 and the students that participated in the first three classes are very enthusiastic about the program. In fact, several graduates are participating on the steering committee for Leadership Pike. Students are needed for the next class. If you are interested, please feel free to contact the Penn State Cooperative Extension office in Pike County. Leadership Pike is a comprehensive leadership development program which offers individuals the opportunity to develop and sharpen leadership skills, a chance to network with existing and future leaders, and to learn about Pike County’s assets as well as introducing participants to the major issues and challenges facing the county. This program is a collaborative effort between the Pike County Chamber of Commerce, Northampton Community College and the Pike County Cooperative Extension. The members of the class will become a leadership team that is responsible for completing a class project of their choice that will benefit the citizens of Pike County as a whole. By design, the project causes each class to work as a team, establish priorities, and develop leadership qualities. Classes will meet the first or second Friday of each month from September through April from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at various locations throughout Pike County. In addition, there will be a graduation ceremony in May. The tuition is $ 450 which includes program materials, lunches and graduation. Scholarships are available for those who qualify.
