4-H Club launches science program

The Pike County 4-H announces a new club, Science Seekers.

4-H Science Seekers will run July 7, 8 and 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Lehman Park in Bushkill. Children, age 8 to 12, interested in science will enjoy topics that include rocketry and aerospace, forensic science and kitchen science.

Children will get a chance to solve the case of the missing millionaire, extract DNA from strawberries and build and launch rockets.

Registration fee is $35. Currently enrolled 4-H members discounted to $20.

Volunteers neededPike County 4-H is also looking for individuals to serve as volunteer 4-H leaders. Volunteer time and share skills, talents and special interests in project areas such as photography, robotics, dogs, fishing and more. For more information contact the 4-H educators at 570-296-3400.
