4-H Hands of Help for Harvey

MILFORD — Members of the Pike County 4-H say that, as Pike County residents, we have experienced flooding and can understand the hardship that can place on a community.
Members of the Pike County 4-H worked together to create popcorn “Hands of Help for Harvey,” which they sold at the Tractor Supply Company Farmer’s Market on Oct. 7 to raise money for Harris County Texas 4-H members affected by Hurricane Harvey back in August.
The hands were made from popcorn and candy corn donated by Junior Zayed and his team at Key Foods, and the gloves were donated by The Naked Bagel, making their fundraiser 100 percent profitable.
At Tractor Supply, the 4-H group met the Shohola Cub Scout Pack 26, which also generously donated to the cause, as did the Girl Scouts of Pike County. Together they raised $252 to send to their fellow 4-H’ers affected by flooding in Texas.
"Compassion grows here in Pike County 4-H!" says the group.
