STROUDSBURG — Numerous calls about gypsy moth infestations have come to the office of PA State Rep. Rosemary Brown, who is passing along some helpful information from the Department of Conservation of Natural Resources about the outbreak at http://bit.ly/1QQ49mU.

The Bureau of Forestry sprayed to kill the pests in May and will not resume this year, she said. She asks Pike County residents to report the outbreaks they observe to their state conservation officer, Kelly Rodemich, at 570-226-8220. Local conservation officers are mapping the outbreaks and will report them to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Bureau of Forestry by fall to request spraying for 2016.

Monroe County residents may call Mark Makuvek at 570-517-3341.

For more information call Carol Shafer at the Bureau of Forestry at 717-783-2066.
