Calling All Angels will share with fellow nonprofits

— Calling All Angels Mission will do its part for “Give Back” Saturday, Nov. 26, by donating half its proceeds to other charities.
“When approached by the local business community about participating in the Small Business Saturday promotion for Nov. 26, I wondered what we could do," said Charles Reynolds, manager of the mission's thrift shop. “Our prices are already low. And we are not really in the position to offer any 'doorbuster' type of deals."
He came up with a plan with Lauren Anderson-Reynolds, executive director, and Robert Abbott, board member and the shop's assistant manager, to do hourly promotions and share its proceeds with its partners in the area.
The thrift shop at 611 Broad St. in Milford will give half the proceeds from all sales to charities according to the following schedule:
10 to 11 a.m. — Proceeds will go to TriState Pregnancy Center, a "Christ centered" anti-abortion center that counsels pregnant women
11 a.m. to noon — Proceeds will go to Pike County Hands of Hope, which helps the homeless and near-homeless families and individuals by meeting their basic and urgent needs of food, clothing, and shelter
12 to 1 p.m. — Proceeds will go to Ecumenical Food Pantry, an inter-denominational pantry that serves families and individuals from the Pike County area who are experiencing economic crisis
1 to 2 p.m. — Proceeds will go to the Pike County Humane Society, dedicated to the care and well being of stray, unwanted, and abused animals in the area
2 to 3 p.m. to Safe Haven of Pike County, a domestic violence service near Milford that helps people dealing with domestic abuse
3 to 4 p.m. to Empowering Port Jervis, a place where people of all ages connect with existing resources and find new ones to solve problems and move to improve their futures
