Construction begins on Log Tavern Road Bridge
MILFORD — Construction for the Log Tavern Road (Route 2006) bridge over Dwarf Kill Creek in Pike County is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
Replacement of this bridge will allow the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to remove it from Pike County’s structurally deficient bridge list.
Motorists should be prepared for a traffic change starting Thursday, Aug. 31. During this time, an alternating traffic pattern will be controlled by temporary traffic signals. Construction of the new bridge is anticipated to be complete in December.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may still change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-143 and is one of 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is a public-private partnership between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners, ,which will finance, design, replace and maintain the bridges for 25 years. The P3 approach will allow PennDOT to replace the bridges more quickly.
