October 8-10 was the weekend of the Kahr Arms Rod of Iron Freedom Festival in Greeley. As usual, this was an enjoyable event.

Its theme is highly patriotic, pro-America, pro-freedom, and pro-first responder. Many of the displays mentioned the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The festival focused on military personnel, active and discharged, with special attention to veterans.

There were concession stands where you could buy everything from beef jerky to knives, both pocket knives and sheath knives. Survival equipment and camping supplies were also available.

The food stands served up typical Pennsylvania festival fare, such as funnel cakes, sausage sandwiches, cheese steaks, hot dogs, hamburgers, along with many Asian foods as well as sweets and desserts.

There were public speakers through out the event and fireworks on Saturday evening. Everyone was in a happy mood, friendly, and enjoyable to speak to.

When you arrive you first feel a sense of excitement and then when you leave, you feel invigorated.

It is a very good day out so, I would encourage everyone to treat themselves when the festival comes back around.
