Dental van has curbside appeal
By Frances Ruth Harris
MILFORD — Need a cavity filled? You can have it done in your driveway.
Jack Boyle of Middletown Community Health Center (MCHC) told the Pike County Commissioners this week that a mobile office providing complete dental care is now available locally. The dental health van contains two chairs for patients.
The forty-year old non-profit accepts private insurance, HMO/PPO, Veterans Administration insurance, the uninsured, and Medicaid/Medicare. It bills the Veterans Administration directly for services provided. The van is available to adults and children in Pike County, Pa., and Orange County, N.Y.
MCHC also has a new Patient Portal that allows access to personal electronic health records. Patients can make appointments and refill prescriptions around the clock. Additionally, MCHC is a full-service diagnostic center, with services in internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN and woman’s health, pediatric and adult immunizations, podiatry, nutritional counseling, substance abuse assessment, employment physicals, immigration and naturalization physicals, health education/outreach, WIC Program, School-Bases Health, HIV, mental health, social work, and laboratory services, with enrollment coordinators and bilingual staff.
