Despite some dips, DV doing better than schools statewide

MILFORD — Delaware Valley School District’s assessment scores from 2015 to 2016 are mostly up in all subjects and all grades, according to results presented recently to the school board.
All grades at DV are doing better compared to other districts across Pennsylvania.
DV students who are either advanced or proficient are:
74.9 percent in English Language Arts (ELA), compared to 60.4 percent across the state
53.2 percent in math, compared to 42.5 percent across the state
83.1 percent in science, compared to 67.0 percent across the state
High school scores all went up:
Literature from 83.95 to 90.61 percent
Algebra I from 72.39 to 73.74 percent
Biology from 68.73 to 73,18 percent
NOCTI from 80.05 to 92.96 percent
NOCTI is the "largest provider of industry-based credentials and partner industry certifications for career and technical education (CTE) programs across the nation," according to nocti.org.
Elementary and middle gradesIn Delaware Valley Elementary School (DVES) and Dingman-Delaware Elementary School (DDES), the upward trend is up from the previous year, except for grade 4 ELA, where there’s a slight dip at DVES from 74.7 to 67.1 percent, and at DDES from 78.4 to 70.3 percent, still above state average of 58.7.
Shohola Elementary School has slightly different results: grades 3, 4 and 5 ELA grades saw a decline, as well as grade 5 math, from 66.2 to 57.3 percent, while still above the Pennsylvania average.
At Delaware Valley Middle School (DVMS), all 8th-grade subject results have gone down, although still better than the state average.
At Dingman-Delaware Middle School (DDMS), grade 6 ELA and Math, and Grade 8 ELA as well are down percentwise, while Keystone Algebra I saw a big jump from 69.5 percent to 93.7 percent.
