Dingman-Delaware PTA host special breakfast

Dingman-Delaware Middle School's Parent/Teacher Association host several fundraisers a year where proceeds provide dances, assemblies, incentives, a special year-end field day event and more.

One such fundraiser is the collection of “Box Tops for Education,” sponsored by General Mills. The PTA runs a contest two times per school year which encourages students to collect and bring in as many Box Tops as possible to their homerooms. The top contributing homerooms in each grade level win a prize. This time there was a special breakfast consisting of freshly-made bagels, milk, apple juice, orange juice, cream cheese, and butter. PTA volunteers cuts each box top to size, counts them, and places them into stacks of 50 before mailing them into General Mills for redemption.

The PTA is also planning a special section to their school store (manned by PTA volunteers each Wednesday during lunches) where students can trade in box tops to purchase some lower priced items.

To join the PTA can contact Shannon Cook at 570-296-3140 voice mail 7054, and any community member who would like to contribute box tops may drop them off at the main office.
