Nicole Digennaro of Dingmans Ferry is reaching out to the community for help in a very sudden and very sad emergency. Her mother, Donna Digennaro, who lives in Dingmans Ferry for most of the year, has fallen ill in Granbury, Texas, where she also has a place to escape the Pennsylvania winters.

Nicole says she is suffering from kidney and liver failure. She's been called to Texas immediately -- she was at first told that her mother had only a few more weeks, but as of Tuesday, it will only be a matter of days.

Nicole and her siblings, Eric Toma Digennaro and Kristin Mullin, grew up in Dingmans Ferry and attended the Delaware Valley schools. They need help bringing her home and paying for her final expenses. They are raising money on message on GoFundMe.com (gofundme.com/f/support-donna-digennaro-emergancy-medical-funds), where they have posted the following message:

"Donna is a 58 year old mother of three from Pennsylvania. She will be 59 in 3 weeks. She has a heart of gold and a smile to light up a room. Currently, she is in intensive care in a hospital in Texas from liver and kidney failure. Her children are being told it's terminal and she may only have a few weeks to live. It was very unexpected.

"Before being admitted to the hospital, Donna wanted to come back home to Pennsylvania to be with her children and the rest of her family.Donna has always been someone who is compassionate and giving. She gave to people in need when she didn't have it herself. Her sense of humor always lightened a room. She is a person who gives a lot of love to the people around her.

"Her 81-year-old mother and three children and the rest of her family is completely distraught. Donna did not have health or life insurance. Her family is hoping to raise money to bring her home and pay her final expenses."
