— GAIT Therapeutic Riding Center will hold its annual car wash from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, at the Milford Township Building on Routes 6 and 209.
The suggested donation is $5 for cars and $10 for trucks and SUVs.
All proceeds will benefit the Jean Work Scholarship Fund which provides funds for special needs children to receive equine therapy at GAIT Therapeutic Riding Center in Milford. The car wash is sponsored by Gordon’s Auto Detailing.
GAIT TRC provides equine related activities to children and adults with physical, emotional and cognitive challenges to increase independence and quality of life.
“Providing care for ten specially trained horses is very expensive,” said GAIT executive director and founder Martha Dubensky. “The Jean Work scholarship fund helps insure that our riders with special needs receive the therapeutic activities necessary for improved quality of life, which in turn provides our ability to give our horses a good quality of life. We could not do this without the generous support of our donors.”
Jean Work was former riding instructor and board member for GAIT. Wendy and Alan Kaplan created a scholarship in her memory to enable riders to be able to enjoy the benefits of therapeutic riding.
