Elf-dieticians help children at CDD decorate gingerbread cookies

— M&M's make the best buttons for a gingerbread man cookie.
That was among the lessons that delighted children at the Center for Development Disabilities (CDD) of Pike County in Milford during a recent cookie-decorating party.
Dietician Marisa Elliott and Sous Chef Allison Wharton, both members of the Morrison Healthcare Food Service dietary staff at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, N.Y., visited five classes in the CDD facility in December dressed as elves. They brought holiday cheer along with a tasty selection of gingerbread cookies, icing, and, of course, M&M's.
“Bon Secours Community Hospital and Morrison Foods have been wonderful supporters of the Center for Developmental Disabilities,” said CDD Executive Director Lisa Randazzo. “They have been active participants of our Annual Chefs Do Dinner in March each year, as well as other activities such as food drives to fill our pantry and the cookie decorating. We are very thankful for supporters such as Bon Secours who help us to continue to provide services to the children and families we serve as well as adding some fun filled educational activities.”
The mission of the CDD is to provide early educational and therapeutic services for children with developmental delays. These services are for children from birth through kindergarten age.
