Fair to feature Elvis impersonator

NEWFOUNDLAND — The 99th annual Greene Dreher Sterling Fair begins on Friday, Aug. 26, and will continue through Sunday, Sept. 4, at the GDS Fairgrounds, on PA-191 behind Wallenpaupack’s South Elementary School. The fair will host a variety of music from country and polka, to classic and alternative rock.
The GDS Fair promotes the agricultural lifestyle and educates the community about the farm life and skills that can utilized in everyday living. The failive entertainment, thousands of exhibitions, amusement rides, and games and fun activities for the whole family.
Performances will be held rain or shine and are free with a fair admission ticket. Elvis impersonator, Ryan Pelton, will headline Wednesday, Aug. 31, 7 p.m., in the arena. Pelton is an international, award winning, Elvis tribute artist, actor, singer and songwriter.

Saturday, Aug. 27, 6 p.m., The Job
Location: Entertainment Pavilion
This band is the culmination of the musical career of its namesake, Jay Orrell. Orrell has been making music since he was old enough to play drums on pots and pans and reach the keys of a piano.
Sunday, Aug. 28, 4 p.m., The Carl Richards Band
Location: Entertainment Pavilion

The Carl Richards Band is a "Rock-A-Billy " band, but they also play a variety of other music and are anywhere from a five- to seven-piece band.
Monday, Aug. 29, 7 p.m. The McWilliams Brothers Band

The McWilliams Brothers Band, originally called "The Buckaroos," was established in 1970 by Bob McWilliams and four of his close friends.
Wednesday, Aug. 31, 7 p.m. Elvis Tribute
Location: Arena
Having performed at the fair in 2011, Pelton is a favorite of fairgoers of years’ past.
Friday, Sept. 2, 6 p.m. Farmers Daughter
Location: Entertainment Pavilion

Sunday, Sept. 4, 5:30 p.m. The Fallen

The Fallen is a band that takes songs from some of the area’s best bands and puts them together into one show.
