'Ferdinand'-inspired show is free for children

NARROWSBURG, N.Y. — “Ferdinand,” a one-man show about the challenges of raising a son, comes to the Tusten Theatre on Saturday, Aug. 27.
Inspired by the classic children’s book “The Story of Ferdinand,” this poignant 50-minute play follows Tom, a single dad who struggles to bring up an empathetic son in a world determined to push him in all the wrong directions. It stars Luke Tudball, originally from the U.K. and one half of the husband/wife producing team Tasty Monster.
“Ferdinand” was a 2015 Top 10 Children’s Show pick at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and winner of the Pittsburgh Fringe Wanderlust Award. The Orlando Sentinal says: “Luke Tudball charmingly and cleverly puts an adult spin on a classic tale for kids.” The Primary Times says: “The audience was completely rapt… Callum, aged 12, said it was the best thing he had seen this year, and Ewan, aged 9, said, ‘It has taught me two things....it’s hard to be an adult, and it's hard to be a child.’”
Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and showtime is 11 a.m. Tickets are free for children and $5 for adults. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The theater is located at 210 Bridge St. in Narrowsburg, N.Y., and is managed by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance. Tickets will be available at the door.
