Free turkey dinners offer fellowship and fun

MILFORD — Two churches in Milford will be offering free turkey dinners this Thanksgiving for those who cannot be with their families or are in need.
First Presbyterian ChurchDinner prepared at the First Presbyterian Church will be served at noon.
The day starts at 9 a.m. for the volunteers who cook the food. They first pack up and deliver turkey dinners and lots of extras to many people in meals on wheels programs, or to anyone who finds coming out difficult.
This program is made possible through the efforts of many people:
Local businesses make donations to buy the food;
The church provides its ample kitchen and hall;
Boy Scouts from local troops help with set up and delivery;
Many people bake pies, cakes, or cookies to donate for dessert;
Volunteers cook and serve the food in a pleasant family atmosphere.
It is a yearly tradition for many, who often join their own families for Thanksgiving dinner later.
Some transportation can be provided. All are invited to share in the food and fellowship, and volunteers are always welcome.
If you know anyone who would like a meal delivered, or for more information, call Steve Davis at 570-296-8079. The church number for calls on Thursday morning is 570-296-4711.
