Hawley invites contractors to bid on Connection Trail

HAWLEY — Companies are invited to bid for work on the Hawley Connection Trail, which will connect Hawley’s trail system with the Towpath Trail of the D&H Canal Park at Lock 31.
The trail committee includes representatives of the Downtown Hawley Partnership, the Wayne County Historical Society, The Lackawaxen River Conservancy, and the Delaware Highlands Conservancy, and is supported by the PA Route 6 Alliance, the Wayne County Community Foundation and members of the community.
The work includes construction of a culvert designed by Kiley Associates of Lakeville, Pa., to help pedestrians cross a swale cut into the original towpath.
Bid documents can be collected from the Downtown Hawley Partnership, at 508 River St., Hawley. Sealed proposals must be submitted to the Partnership by 4 p.m. on Friday, July 1. Proposals received after this time will not be considered.
Only original proposals will be considered. Any faxed and emailed proposals will be declared non-responsive.
By submitting a proposal for this project, each bidder represents that they understand the requirements of the schedule and are capable of performing the work as per the schedule.
Bid results will be announced on July 8 The project completion date is Oct. 1. The successful bidder will be required to produce a program that meets this deadline, allowing for reasonable weather conditions.
