Key Food celebrates grand opening in Milford

Milford Never mind being superstitious about Friday the 13th. Throw caution to the wind and head over to the Key Food Marketplace open house, where tasty samples, sales, and giveaways may put your fears to rest (at least temporarily).
The newly renovated Key Food supermarket in Milford (formerly the site of the Grand Union and, more recently, Milford Farms) will begin its grand opening celebration today (May 13) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m., the Pike County Chamber of Commerce announced in its May NewsFlash online newsletter.
The building that now houses Key Food Marketplace, one of the chamber's newest members, was acquired in July 2015 by Junior Dabashi, whose family owns similar stores in Beacon and New York City.
Not only did Dabashi clean up and remodel the dingy old building and gradually replace the shopping carts and freezers, but he began stocking a much wider variety of foods. He recently announced that Key Food is now carrying a new line of organic, natural, non-GMO, and gluten-free foods.
The new Key Food supermarket is located at 501 West Harford St. in Milford. The store is open from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and from 7 a.m.- 8 p.m. on Sundays.
